Data Deletion

Last updated 15 October 2026

You can ask Dimetech Group Ltd to delete your AdPlan account and the personal information we hold about you at any time. This page explains how to make a request, what happens next, and what we may need to keep.

1.Your right to deletion

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya and other data protection laws that may apply to you, you can ask us to delete personal information that is no longer needed, or that you no longer want us to hold. This applies whether you are an advertiser, an agency, a media owner, a creator or someone who has only visited the AdPlan website.

Deleting your data is free. Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and why.

2.Before you start

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Before you ask us to delete it, we recommend that you:

  • download any invoices, receipts, media plans or proof of delivery you want to keep;
  • finish or cancel any open booking requests and bookings, and wait for payments held in escrow to be released or refunded; and
  • if you own an organisation workspace, transfer ownership to a colleague who will keep using it, or tell us in your request that the whole workspace should be deleted.

If you have an active booking or a payment in escrow, we will contact you to settle it before we complete your request, so that buyers and media owners are not left without the service or payment they are owed.

3.How to request deletion

To delete your account and personal information:

  • Email support@adplan.ke from the email address linked to your AdPlan account. If you no longer have access to that address, email us from another address and explain why.
  • Use the subject line “Data deletion request”.
  • Include your full name, the email address on your account and the organisation you use AdPlan for, if any.
  • Tell us whether you want your whole account deleted, or only specific information, such as a connected social media account or a listing.

You can also make a request in writing to Dimetech Group Ltd, Karen Office Park, Hemingways Block, Nairobi, Kenya.

If you are acting on behalf of someone else, include proof that you are authorised to make the request for them.

4.What happens next

  • We confirm that we have received your request, usually within two working days.
  • We verify your identity, for example by asking you to confirm the request from your account email address. We do this to stop anyone else from deleting your data.
  • We delete your account and personal information within 14 days of verifying your request. If a request is complex, for example because there are bookings to settle first, we will tell you why and when we expect to finish.
  • We email you to confirm that your data has been deleted, and list any information we have had to keep and why.

Copies of deleted data may remain in our encrypted backups for a short time until those backups are overwritten. They are not used for any other purpose in the meantime.

5.What we delete

When we delete your account, we delete or anonymise:

  • your profile and account details, including your name, email address, phone number and password;
  • your saved searches, media plans, briefs and preferences;
  • listings, inventory and payout details, if you are a media owner;
  • profile and audience information from any social media account you connected; and
  • usage and device information linked to you.

6.What we may need to keep

Some information has to be kept even after you ask us to delete it. We keep only what we need, only for as long as we need it, and we do not use it for any other purpose:

  • Invoices, payment and escrow records, which tax and accounting law requires us to keep for a set period.
  • Information needed to resolve an open dispute, prevent fraud or meet a legal or regulatory obligation.
  • Booking and invoice records that the other party to a booking already holds. Deleting your account does not remove the copies a buyer or media owner keeps for their own records.
  • Information that has been anonymised so that it can no longer identify you, such as overall usage statistics.

When the reason for keeping this information ends, we delete it.

7.Connected social media accounts

If you linked a YouTube channel, you can remove AdPlan’s access at any time from Google’s security settings page (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions). When you remove our access, or ask us to unlink your channel, we delete the YouTube data we hold for you within 7 days.

If you connected another social media account, you can stop us from receiving any more information from it at any time by removing AdPlan from the connected apps in that platform’s own settings. On Facebook and Instagram, for example, this is under Settings, then Apps and websites.

Removing the connection stops new information from being shared with us. To delete the information we already received from any connected account, email support@adplan.ke as described above and tell us which account you connected.

8.If you only want fewer messages

You do not need to delete your account to stop hearing from us. You can unsubscribe from insights and product updates using the link in any of our emails, and turn browser notifications off in your account or browser settings. We will still send service messages about your account, bookings and payments while your account is open.

9.Questions and complaints

If you have questions about deleting your data, email us at support@adplan.ke. If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya, or to the data protection authority where you live.
